World's Finest Gift Exchange 2007

Ah, the amazing World’s Finest Gift Exchange 2007. Well, it’s not an exchange to me since I didn’t ask for anything in return XD;;

For the art prompt #06: Bruce and Clark trying to make-out and decorate a Christmas tree at the same time, only to be interrupted by Dick and Tim. I hope whoever that requested this will like it. The story behind this is probably that Bruce sent Dick and Tim out to do some last-minute shopping, then Clark popped by. Shenanigans ensured. Then Dick and Tim came home too early. Oops.

If the prompter wishes to reveal herself or himself, please do!

I'm just a bit sad that the prompter didn't ask for my favourite Boy Wonder, Jason. And I can't include him since it doesn't fit into the prompt. Next time!

Sorry for the wonky-looking faces in the lower panel - the size of the image on your screen is actually larger than the original which I drew. A 0.2mm technical pen has its limitations after all. Actually, for that matter, I apologise for the faces in general - I have never claimed to be among the likes of Kevin Maguire and Amanda Conner :D;;

The perspective is… all sorts of bad. Someday, I will master perspective. But until then, you’ll have to settle for my current standards!

And in case you can’t tell already, I don’t know how to draw a X’mas tree.

Still, creative use of Christmas lighting FTW! And the wet string of, erm, you-know-what in panel 2 is dirty. DIRTYDIRTYDIRTYDIRTYDIRTY.

Of course, you ain’t seen nothing yet. Watch this space in January 2008 for the real definition of ‘dirty’ >D

Btw, I’ve completed all my drawing projects for 2007. If you want to hit me up for a drawing gig, now is a good time to do so. Otherwise I’m going to start doing fanart for ‘The Umbrella Academy’.

Your line work is simply beautiful. I happen to like b&w lines more than I like colored pieces, so your work is always some of my favorites. This scene is perfect. I love all the facial expressions. Bravo!

The expressions are priceless: Clark and Bruce's reactions to being busted (Clark embarrassed and Bruce irritated), Dick's knowing smile, and Tim's WTF? expression! LOL!

Totally awesome. I love Tim's expression in the fourth panel.

This was made of awesome-sauce.

One of my favorite things to observe in fan art, and one of the things that makes me wish I could draw better than stick figures, is facial expressions. And you did such an awesome job of giving them expressions that describe exactly who they are.

I love Dick's expression the most. It manages to be both knowing, and "hmm, best way to spend Christmas I can think of would be doing that with.....(insert Dick Grayson OTP of choice here.)" It's delightfully wicked and perfectly Dick Like.


I'm just a bit sad that the prompter didn't ask for my favourite Boy Wonder, Jason. And I can't include him since it doesn't fit into the prompt. Next time!

Clearly the solution is to include some Jason Christmas love all his own. *grins.*

Thank you so much - I'm just glad that the facial expressions are coming across. I hope to improve on them with more practice. For me, it's a toss-up between Clark's and Dick's expression.

Maybe it is time to draw Jason. He's my favourite Robin, but interestingly enough, I've not drawn him even once this year, I believe!

Oh my God, Tim's facial expression at the top has me totally cracking up!

And, um...the Christmas tree lights being used in kinky ways is not something I had ever thought of, and now I can't stop thinking about it...

I actually had the most trouble getting Tim's expression. I think I pulled a muscle holding that expression for so long in the mirror!

X'mas tree lights have always occured to me as being very... useful for, erm... bondage scenes. I'm sorry I'm such a pervert :D;;

LOL!!! I love the boys' expressions! All of them! They're all so shocked and embarrassed. The scene feels awkward but in a very adorable way, I totally love it. And Dick's all like, "Heh...knewwit" at the beginning. Great job!

Like [info]tmelange said, this image is great in just B&W, and you drew it out like an actual comic! And I love how you have it where it's Clark whose dominating.

Oh, and sorry for not requesting Jason along with the image. I didn't want to bog down whoever took this request. Otherwise Wally would be in there too X3

It was a fun prompt with a lot of potential, even if I did baulk at the idea of drawing a Christmas tree (I've not drawn any foliage in literally years)! I decided to approach it as a comic because if I did it as a pin-up, their facial expressions probably won't come across as clearly as I'd like them to.

Don't worry about Jason - if you did in fact add him in, I'd have to change the page layout completely to fit in a 5th character. As it is, 4 characters works just nice right now.

Oh the subtle dirtiness - I love it! I laughed out loud when I saw this - all the expressions are priceless, especially poor Tim. And Bruce just looks pissed at being interrupted. Also - are Tim and Dick standing under a mistletoe?? :D Your linework is very lovely by the way, very fluid - do you ink by hand or use a tablet?

Yes, there is a sprig of mistletoe at the arch of the doorway. I don't think Dick and Tim noticed them yet, though. Maybe Bruce can point it out to them after he has, erm... sorted himself out XD;;

Thank you for the compliment on the linework. I continue to ink by hand because I'm just not good at doing the whole digital thing. It also explains why I didn't add any colours to this piece!
